substack fun-fact
Monthly subscription prices must be set to $5 or more. Annual subscriptions must be $30 or more.
You can create “group discounts” to sell 2+ subscriptions at a discount.
With some inspect element shenanigans, you can set that discount to 99.99%.
Unfortunately, the $0.30 Stripe processing fee is directly billed to the author. If I get the price to $0.01 (or $0), I’d be losing money on every subscription.
So I only brought it down to a 96.68% discount.
Don’t subscribe there, the money goes straight to Stripe and Substack, I’ll see next to none of it. And you’ll gain nothing. I will manually add you as a “paid” subscriber if you ask.
